TOM "WAGS" WAGNER

BIO

Tom Wagner began his career with the Metropolitan Police Department on September 1, 1988, and retired after 25 years as a Detective Sergeant in charge of the Missing Persons/Juvenile detail. Tom started the Nevada Amber Alert program and provided training for officers in the new system that alerted the public to the most serious child abduction cases. Tom was awarded “Police Officer of the Year” twice. Tom also received the Unit Citation of Valor, the Meritorious Award, and the Community Service Award.

An entrepreneur at heart, Wagner is a small business owner who founded and operates several small businesses: Wagner Allstate, After the Badge Security LLC, InstaHire LLC, and Wags2 Riches lifestyle clothing. His dedication, hard work, and ability to provide good products and services to the community have led to his business’s success.

Community service is at the core of Wagner’s desire to improve the lives of people in need. He founded Police Officers Riding for Kids, raising over $250,000 for southern Nevada charities (Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation, Special Olympics). Cops For Kids was started to assist parents in law enforcement with their children’s college education. The scholarship program has awarded over $300,000 in tuition assistance. The 3630 Foundation was started after retired police officer Rich Schmitt committed suicide. Rich called for counseling help and was told he had to wait a few weeks. Two days later, he killed himself. This foundation will assist retired police officers in getting the counseling help that they deserve immediately.

Wagner serves on the following boards: Las Vegas Bowl, Southern Nevada Sports Hall of Fame, UNLV Football Foundation, Simon Keith Foundation, Nevada Chapter of the College Football Hall of Fame, UNLV Baseball Club, Little League Board Member, Scarlett Canyon HOA, and the Super Bowl Host Committee Ambassador program.

Wagner graduated from Mankato State University in 1988 as a student-athlete (football) with a criminal justice and pre-law degree.

Wagner raised two sons, Jake and Tyler, who are his pride and joy. Jake is a successful small business owner himself. He travels the country as a Sports DJ, performing at the Winter Classics, NHL All-Star games, and the Olympics. Before that, Jake played baseball at UNLV and DJ’ed for the Knights, Aces, Raiders, and Aviators. Tyler was a professional baseball player. He first attended and played baseball for Bishop Gorman High School before playing for the University of Utah. He was then drafted in the 4th round by the Brewers. After a career in MLB, he retired medically and started his own Wagner Allstate business, hoping to take over his dad’s business in the future.

Tom is an avid sports fan (original Knights season ticket holder), UNLV football and baseball ticket holder, golfer, pickleball player, and fitness enthusiast.
